Moonshine Beach And 103.7 KSON Unite For Benefit Concert To Aid Lahaina Wildfire Victims
Moonshine Beach and San Diego’s Country Station 103.7 KSON are coming together for Music For Maui to raise money to help those impacted by the devastating wildfires in Lahaina, Hawaii.
Music For Maui: A benefit concert
The concert is hosted by KSON’s own Kimo Jensen with performances by country stars, Brian Kelley (Florida Georgia Line), Chase Matthew, Runaway June and Tim Dugger.
100% of ticket sales and 100% of Moonshine Beach’s bar proceeds will go to benefit Maui Contractors Women’s Auxiliary(MCWA), a local, non-profit women’s organization that has been serving Maui County and the community of Lahaina for over 30 years.
MCWA is currently working with other nonprofits in the area to assist with fire aid efforts. All donations from the concert will directly benefit the affected residents and community. Amidst the music, San Diegans can contribute to the ongoing relief efforts in a meaningful way.
At the heart of this initiative is a personal connection between Good Time Design, the hospitality group behind Moonshine Beach, and Maui Contractors Women’s Auxiliary. Good Time Design’s CEO (Ty Hauter), In-House Counsel (Dave Osborne), and many other current GTD employees have ties to Maui through their past work with Moose Restaurant Group and its founder, Lee Deshong.
Ty, Dave and other GTD managers also worked closely with Maui resident, Penny Putnam, who has been a GM for Moose Restaurant Group in Lahaina and Kihei for nearly 30 years. Two current GTD managers actually lived in Maui and worked with Penny at Moose McGillyCuddy’s.
When news broke out about the fires, Ty and Dave reached out to Lee and Penny to make sure everyone was safe and to ask how they could help, which is when Lee and Penny shared the work Penny has been doing with MCWA to help victims of the wildfires. By donating 100% of ticket sales and 100% of bar proceeds, the GTD team hopes to amplify these efforts.
