Celebrate National Catfish Day With Louisiana Purchase
National Catfish Day is June 25th and there’s only one place in San Diego to properly celebrate. Head down to Louisiana Purchase in North Park to enjoy big bold bayou flavors and modern interpretations of classic French Quarter dishes.
Chef Q dominates National Catfish Day
When it comes to creating southern classics like catfish, Chef Q, Owner of Louisiana Purchase is the person who knows best. Born and raised in New Orleans, Chef Q completed his formal training at the Culinary Institute of New Orleans, which laid the groundwork for a well-seasoned career. He stays true to a self-imposed commitment to treat food as art, and his bold creativity has contributed to a creation of dishes that guests have been salivating over since he first stepped foot into the kitchen.
For National Catfish Day, Chef Q will be serving up his famous Fried Boudin Stuffed Catfish. Boudin is a sausage made from a blend of pork cooked down with onions, peppers, seasonings, & cooked rice. It goes perfectly with catfish, which is packed with protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals.
Try Louisiana Purchase’s Lemon Pepper Catfish, which comes with your choice of two savory sides, like Candied Yams, Jambalaya, and Collard Greens. A fan favorite is the Southeast Catfish Biscuit Sandwich, served with garlic butter fries.
Finish off your catfish meal with Voodoo Carre
Wash the meal down with a carefully crafted cocktail like the Voodoo Carre, which mixes Cognac, Rye, Amaro Nonino, sweet Vermouth, peach balsamic, bitters and applewood smoke.
