Uniting The World In Song: San Diego Sings! Festival Returns

The Choral Consortium of San Diego, a nonprofit that unites, supports and promotes the vibrant local choral community, is presenting its 4th biennial San Diego Sings! Festival at the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center on Saturday, April 2, 2022. The all-day event consists of three concert sessions featuring performances by 15 choral groups and massed choirs.

Performances will take place at 11AM, 3PM and 7PM, with each choir having a 15-minute slot. Five choirs will participate in each concert session, which will conclude with a massed choir sing, including the audience. The Consortium hosts this festival every two years, but the choirs have not convened since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously held at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park, this year’s event will take place in the acoustically outstanding Baker-Baum Concert Hall at The Conrad. ASL interpretation will be provided.

“We are thrilled to bring back the San Diego Sings! Festival after a pandemic hiatus, and look forward to reuniting our top local choirs for the community to enjoy,” said Choral Consortium of San Diego Executive Director Carol Manifold. “Our new venue at The Conrad incorporates state-of-the-art technology and adjustable acoustics, making it an ideal space for our choral groups to perform.”

This activity is supported in part by the City of San Diego Commission for Arts & Culture and the California Arts Council, a state agency. Learn more here.

About Choral Consortium of San Diego

The Choral Consortium of San Diego is a service organization composed of choruses and individuals who support the choral art from throughout San Diego County. CCSD was founded in 2010 by leaders of area choirs, in response to a need for better communication and coordination among the choirs, particularly in scheduling concerts on non-conflicting dates. Benefits include sharing resources, promoting each other’s concerts, and developing community-wide programs to highlight the many opportunities to sing in choirs.

See you there, San Diego!
