Taste of North Park Adds First-Ever After Party With Walkabout App Integration
San Diego’s favorite neighborhood food crawl is getting some upgrades this year, and honestly, they’re kind of overdue. Taste of North Park has partnered with Walkabout.app, which means you can finally ditch the confusion of wandering around with a paper punch card trying to figure out where to go next.
Plus, there’s now “The After Taste”—a free after party at Union Cowork for people who aren’t ready to stop eating and drinking.
The App Actually Makes Sense
Look, we’ve all done the Taste of North Park shuffle where you’re standing on a corner trying to decide which restaurant to hit next while simultaneously trying to remember which ones you’ve already been to.
The Walkabout app lets you map your route ahead of time, see real-time updates on lines and pop-ups, and unlock exclusive experiences. It’s the kind of tech integration that actually solves a problem instead of just adding complexity.
“The After Taste” is free if you download the app and includes more food and drink tastings from Above Board Liqueurs and Torque Coffee, plus flash tattoos from Eden Tattoo, activities, and raffles. Basically, if you’re one of those people who gets to 3:30 PM and thinks “wait, that’s it?”—this is for you.
What You’re Actually Getting
The main event offers over 50 food tastings and 14 drink stops. Some exciting newcomers this year include Finca, which just made Wine Spectator’s international list of favorite wine bars, Between Us, Little Sister’s Pizza, Jeni’s Ice Cream, Bivouac Cider, North Park Beer Co., and Suntide Mimosas.
Tickets are $50 for food only, $65 for food and drinks, or $85 for a shareable option. It sells out every year, so if you’re hemming and hawing about whether to go, just commit already.
Logistics You Need to Know
Five check-in spots open at 10:30 AM: bluefoot bar & lounge, Louisiana Purchase, The Original 40 Brewing Company, Thai Time, or Walkabout Union Cowork.
Start wherever makes sense for your planned route. North Park Garage has 350 spaces, and MTS buses 2, 6, 7, and 10 all hit the neighborhood.
It’s all ages, but obviously you need to be 21+ for the booze tastings.

Taste of North Park earned its reputation as one of the best neighborhood events in the city. The app and after party additions show they’re actually listening to feedback and evolving the format. Between the solid lineup of newcomers and established favorites, this should be another strong year.
