Wormwood Celebrates 1 Year With 8-Course Tasting Menu
San Diego’s award-winning absinthe bar and bistro, Wormwood, celebrates its 1st anniversary this week with an eight course, prix fixe tasting menu available for only five days from Wednesday, November 30 through Sunday, December 4.
This special menu will be comprised of several of Wormwood’s most classic items enjoyed by guests this past year and is designed by Executive Chef Danny Romero and Chef de Cuisine Dante Romero.
Wormwood’s 1st Anniversary featured menu
Wormwood’s 1st anniversary tasting menu begins with oysters with absinthe foam and a wild mushroom tartlet with spiced apple butter and caramelized onion.
Each successive course—from King salmon crudo to plates featuring mussels, lamb sausage, halibut, agnolotti with chantarelles, and a spinach poblano soup with a walnut fondue—will show off the most classic flavors of Wormwood as designed for the late autumn season. The experience closes out with a duo of dessert experiences
Wormwood’s regular dinner menu of seasonal, French-influenced fare is also available throughout the week. Guests can enhance their dining experience with a selection of more than 30 absinthes sourced from Europe and the United States, served in slow-drip fountains with a cube of sugar in the tradition of how absinthe was served in early 20th century Paris.
Additionally, cocktail menu features revisited absinthe classics like the Sazerac and the A La Louisiane alongside libations highlighting other spirits.
