Harland Brewing is Stacking Fridays in May

If you’re looking for reasons to spend more time at a taproom this month, Harland Brewing Company has put together a May lineup that covers a lot of ground – limited-edition beer releases, a keep-the-pint night, an island-inspired block party, and a benefit concert for Typhoon Sinlaku relief in Guam.

Here’s everything happening and when to show up.

AAPI Heritage Month Beer Releases Every Friday

Every Friday in May, Harland is releasing a new limited-edition beer honoring Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Six beers total, each brewed in collaboration with local AAPI businesses and built around ingredients deeply rooted in Pacific Islander and Asian food culture.

  • Li Hing Sour Ale (May 8) – brewed with Li Hing powder for a tart, sweet-salty hit
  • Haupia Milkshake IPA (May 8) – a rich dessert pour with coconut, macadamia nut, graham crackers, and marshmallow fluff
  • Pandan Mai Tai Sour Ale (May 15) – layered with pandan, pineapple, orange, coconut, and calamansi
  • Strawberry Sticks (May 22) – a Strawberry Pocky-inspired sour with BAIT San Diego, made with strawberry milk powder, strawberry ice cream, and vanilla wafers
  • Calamansi Meringue Pie (May 22) – a pastry sour ale brewed in collaboration with Ambitious Ales
  • Rice Lager with Coconut & Calamansi (May 29) – a three-way collab between Harland, Mostra Coffee, and White Rice

These are small-batch drops available across all Harland locations – once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Keep the Pint Night – Friday, May 15

On May 15, all Harland locations are running a Keep the Pint Night all day while supplies last. Order a Crone Zone pint for $9 and take the limited-edition glass home with you.

Crone Zone is a clean, crisp American Light Lager made in collaboration with Padres infielder Jake Cronenworth – easy-drinking and built for this time of year. No reservations, no tickets – just show up.

Aloha Friday at Scripps Ranch – Friday, May 22

The Scripps Ranch location goes full island-mode on May 22 with Aloha Friday, an evening of live music, specialty beers, and local vendors. Singer Siaosi performs live, a Li Hing candy vendor will be on-site, and All Things Ube is bringing ube-infused desserts to round out the spread.

With the AAPI Heritage Month beer series in full swing, expect some of those limited releases on pour as well. It’s the kind of evening that turns into a longer night than you planned – in the best way.

Marianas Strong Benefit Concert at Scripps Ranch – Friday, May 29

May closes with something that carries real weight. Harland’s Scripps Ranch location is hosting Marianas Strong, a benefit concert supporting communities in Guam impacted by Typhoon Sinlaku. All proceeds go directly to a Marianas-based nonprofit doing on-the-ground recovery and rebuilding work.

The night features live performances from Tribal Theory, DJ Charles Rosé, Oston Saralu, Håle’, and Jason J – a full, high-energy lineup that makes this worth attending for the music alone. Organized in partnership with local community organizations, it’s a chance to spend a Friday night doing something meaningful.

See you there!

From creative AAPI collabs to a community benefit concert, Harland Brewing is giving us plenty of good reasons to pull up a stool and stay a while this May.
