Ring in the Holidays With Salute the Season at Liberty Station

The holidays are right around the corner, and Liberty Station is ready to celebrate. Its annual Salute the Season events are back with a lineup of festive, family-friendly traditions that San Diegans look forward to every year.

From a towering tree lighting to a community menorah lighting and a ballet-themed holiday tea, there’s something for everyone on your list. Here’s how to make the most of the season.

Salute to the Season

Holiday Tree Lighting

The main event is the annual lighting of Liberty Station’s iconic 88-foot Norfolk pine, and it’s free. Gather your loved ones for live entertainment, festive firetruck rides, and free photos with Santa, all set in the North Promenade and Vesper Venue.

Cozy up under the twinkling lights, then settle in for an outdoor showing of The Grinch. It’s a great way to kick off the season without leaving the neighborhood.

Hanukkah Celebration & Menorah Lighting

Liberty Station is teaming up with The Chabads of Downtown San Diego and Pacific Beach to host a public menorah lighting in the Central Promenade.

The free celebration brings the community together with music, live entertainment, and the traditional lighting of the menorah. It’s a warm, welcoming way to mark the holiday with friends, family, and neighbors.

Nutcracker Tea with the San Diego Ballet

Treat the family to the Nutcracker Tea, where holiday treats meet an interactive performance by San Diego Ballet. Santa makes a visit too, so there’s plenty of magic to go around.

It’s an easy way to start a new holiday tradition, or add to one you already love, and it makes a lovely outing for ballet fans and first-timers alike. Don’t forget your camera.
