New City Public Spaces: Marco Li Mandri’s Vision for Transforming Urban Communities

New City Public Spaces is at the heart of creating dynamic public areas where people gather, businesses flourish, and communities come alive. Led by Marco Li Mandri, this initiative aims to revitalize urban environments and enhance city life.

A Legacy of Transformation

Leading this initiative is Marco Li Mandri, President of New City America. With decades of experience revitalizing urban districts—including his transformative work in shaping San Diego’s iconic Little Italy—Marco has dedicated his career to the belief that thriving cities are anchored in well-designed public spaces.

Since stepping into his role as Executive Advisor of the Little Italy Association on January 1, 2025, Marco has turned his full attention to expanding the reach and impact of New City Public Spaces.

Reimagining Public Spaces

Through New City Public Spaces, Marco and his team are transforming high-traffic pedestrian areas into vibrant hubs of activity.

From outdoor seating and creative landscaping to custom design features that reflect a neighborhood’s character, every project is crafted with intention, ensuring spaces are welcoming, functional, and economically beneficial.

Sustainable, Community-Driven Solutions

A great public space is more than just a pretty backdrop—it’s a thriving, sustainable environment. That’s why New City Public Spaces collaborates with Business Improvement Districts and Community Benefit Districts to ensure these spaces are not only well-designed but also well-maintained for long-term success.

By fostering partnerships and securing sustainable management solutions, Marco’s work guarantees that public spaces remain inviting and impactful for years to come.

New City Public Spaces

A Lasting Impact

Marco Li Mandri’s contributions to urban development have not gone unnoticed. On December 2, 2024, he was honored with a proclamation marking the day as Marco Li Mandri Day in recognition of his dedication to building better cities.

With Marco Li Mandri at the helm of New City Public Spaces, cities across the country continue to see the power of investing in vibrant, people-focused environments that foster connection and economic growth.
