Step Into Aloha: OluKai Opens its First San Diego Store in La Jolla

La Jolla just got a new neighbor on Girard Avenue, and it feels right at home. OluKai – the premium Hawaiian-inspired footwear brand – has officially opened its first San Diego retail location, bringing the “Anywhere Aloha” spirit to one of the city’s most beloved coastal stretches.

OluKai La Jolla

A Store Designed Around the Coast

This isn’t just a shoe store. The La Jolla location is a thoughtfully designed space that draws a line between the shorelines of Hawai’i and Southern California. Turquoise and deep blue tones pulled from the Pacific sit alongside sandy, rocky hues from both coastlines.

A tile facade references La Jolla’s beaches, coral and lava tile floors connect the limestone of La Jolla with the volcanic rock of Hawai’i, and an archway at the back of the store nods to the tide pools and sea caves just down the road. A sailcloth ceiling feature overhead carries a printed pattern that moves like seals in the water.

The full lineup is here – sandals, sneakers, slippers, and golf shoes for men and women, all built around OluKai’s commitment to comfort, craftsmanship, and ocean-inspired design.

The Grand Opening Party

To kick things off in proper La Jolla style, OluKai is throwing a grand opening party. Expect live music from local musician Zach Barnhorst, a fresh oyster bar, coconut cocktails, and an exclusive gift with any footwear purchase.

There’s also a community element worth highlighting: 100% of net proceeds from that day’s sales will go directly to the La Jolla Coastal Conservancy, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and enhancing La Jolla’s shoreline parks, trails, and open spaces. So every purchase that day does double duty.

Good to Know

The store is open Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM. Walk-ins are welcome – no tickets needed for the grand opening party, just show up.

See you there!

Whether you’re long overdue for new sandals or just want to explore a beautifully designed new space in La Jolla, the grand opening party is a great excuse to make the trip.
