Prohibition Speakeasy Reveals First New Menu In Two Years

Known for craftiness and exquisite attention to detail, Prohibition, GBOD Hospitality Group’s popular speakeasy hidden underground in the Gaslamp Quarter, has introduced a new lineup of cocktails for the first time in two years.

The cocktail menu, created by GBOD Hospitality Group Beverage Director and Prohibition Lead Bartender Ryan Andrews, is organized by spirit and is now available.

Prohibition’s New Lineup of Libations

  • Whiskey cocktails: Whiskey cocktails include Dreamsicle, made with Elijah Crag bourbon, Magdala orange liqueur, vanilla, lemon, R&D floral bitters and egg white; Less Du Eeet, with Henebery Celebrated Rye, Argonaut brandy, Jager, lemon and almond orgeat; Oren Ishi, a mix of Toki Japanese whisky, ube and lemon; among others.

  • Gin-based elixirs: Gin-based elixirs consist of Kiwikini, with Rives strawberry gin, lemon, vanilla and kiwi; Holiday in Cambodia, a combination of Bombay gin, Averna, lemon, spiced rice milk and lemongrass; Rhubarbara Streisand, made with Rives strawberry gin, vanilla, rhubarb, lemon, egg white and R&D sarsaparilla bitters; You’re a Cabroni, with coconut fat-washed Bombay, Campary, Noilly Prat sweet vermouth; and more.

  • Cocktails for agave enthusiasts: Cocktails catering to agave enthusiasts include the Sex Panther, made with Ilegal mezcal, Montenegro, lime and blueberry; By Odion, a mixture of Real de Valle tequila, Aperol, pineapple, basil and cucumber; Oaxaca Or Bust, a combination of Divino Maguey tamarind mezcal, Alma Tepec chile liqueur; among others.

  • Rum-based libations: The new menu also features rum-based libations including Monty’s Python, with Santa Teresa Venezuelan rum, Montenegro, lime, pineapple and demerara; Purple Rain, with Santa Teresa rum, ube, violette and lemon; and more.

Prohibition’s classic single barrel, top shelf Old Fashioned cocktails and popular signature cocktails are still available, such as the Hotel Nacional, Balboa and more.

Live Music at Prohibition

To add extra buzz to evenings, Prohibition hosts live music performances beginning at 9PM Monday through Saturday, including a variety of jazz musicians and styles, as well as Rockabilly Americana and blues, among other genres.
