Rooftop Cinema Club has the Perfect Lineup to Kick Off Summer

Little Italy’s rooftop movie experience atop the Porto Vista Hotel is heading into one of its biggest stretches of the year. From Memorial Day Weekend all the way through Father’s Day, Juneteenth, Pride Month, and the World Cup, Rooftop Cinema Club has built something around every major moment between now and the end of June – and the lineup is stacked.

Rooftop Cinema Club summer Schedule

Memorial Day Weekend, May 22 – 25

The long weekend kicks things off with 14 films spread across four days – cult classics, rom-coms, and recent releases. The lineup pulls from all over the map: The Sandlot, The Dark Knight, Charlie’s Angels, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and the 2025 Sydney Sweeney thriller The Housemaid, among others. Something for everyone in the group, whatever the group looks like.

The World Cup is Coming Back to U.S. Soil

For the first time in 32 years, the World Cup returns to the United States – and Rooftop Cinema Club is opening its doors for both of the U.S. Men’s National Team’s group stage matches. The opener against Paraguay lands on Friday, June 12 at 6 PM, and the second match against Australia follows on Friday, June 19 at noon. Tickets are expected to move fast, so get yours early.

Father’s Day and the Summer Solstice – June 21

The longest day of the year lands on Father’s Day, and the full day-to-night lineup is built for it. The Sandlot, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Interstellar, and Big Daddy make for a pretty hard lineup to argue with. Pair it with brunch or dinner in Little Italy before or after, and you’ve got the whole day covered.

Juneteenth – June 19

Right after the World Cup Watch Party against Australia wraps, the evening continues with a triple-header – White Chicks, Love Jones, and Sinners – each with separate admission. A full night of films worth staying for.

Wooftop Cinema Club is Back

Four-legged regulars rejoice – Wooftop Cinema Club has returned with four dog-friendly screenings across June. Shrek on June 7, The Princess Bride on June 13, Mamma Mia! on June 20, and Hoppers on June 28. Bring your best friend and settle in.

And There’s Still More

Beyond all of that, the stretch also features the return of San Diego’s own Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, a Golden Girls mini-marathon, a Pride Month Queer-themed Singles Night screening Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and a Movie Night and Drag Show celebrating Marilyn Monroe in the 1959 classic Some Like It Hot.

More than 70 films and special events in total – it’s a run that covers a lot of ground.

See you there!

From World Cup watch parties to dog-friendly screenings and drag shows, Rooftop Cinema Club is the place to be in Little Italy as summer gets going – check the full lineup and grab your tickets before they sell out.
