Societe Brewing’s Satellite Tasting Room Opens in Old Town Corral
Societe Brewing’s first satellite tasting room has finally opened in the Old Town Corral!
Since opening its first location in Kearny Mesa 10 years ago, Societe has grown its legion of loyal fans, one beer at a time, led by their rally cry, “Beer Folk Unite” the words that adorn the walls of its newest tasting room in bold type font.
Having just started canning its beer before the pandemic shut down in March 2020, going from a highly on-site focused distribution to an ever-expanding distribution and rapid growth, Societe tripled production setting itself up for further expansion into Los Angeles and Northern California. Bringing its first satellite location to San Diego’s historic Old Town, Societe Brewing looks forward to further establishing itself as an unquestioned part of the city’s beer fabric.
The 1,400 square-foot space complete with a 380 square-foot patio will operate as the tasting room until the location is expanded to 2,800 square feet in 2023. The space is both a nod to Societe’s flagship tasting room in Kearny Mesa and the wild west.
The Societe Brewing Old Town location features 16 taps, serving the entirety of Societe’s beers, a retail corner and walk-up order line that sits below an amber light fixture painted with the words ‘ice cold beers.’ Wrapped in piano scroll wallpaper from self-playing pianos and terracotta painted wood floors, the tasting room’s custom details like the beer barrel chandelier, natural cedar bar and original German beer garden tables aid in its charm and nostalgic feel.
Over the next several months, the expansion space will undergo renovations adding a beer bar, retail shop, and onsite kitchen with plans to close for a short period in late 2023 to remove the separating walls allowing light to flood the entirety of the space joining them together for the larger tasting room experience.
