The Bar At Moniker General’s summer menu highlights
Here’s a few highlights from their recently-launched summer menu:
The Oaxacan Triceratops
Union Mezcal – Fresh Lime Juice – Prickly Pear Syrup – Agave Syrup – Saline Solution
This fuchsia-hued, Mezcal-based elixir is an ode to Oaxaca. Prickly pear is native to the Americas but found in abundance in Mexico’s South Pacific Coast— so, it was only fitting to “pear” it with a spirit indigenous to the region as well, specifically, Oaxaca. With flavor notes that cross between watermelon and bubblegum, the prickly pear cuts through the earthy smoke of the Mezcal, making The Oaxacan Triceratops a perfectly balanced sipper.
Guava Clouds
Mi Campo Blanco Tequila – Pink Guava Syrup – Fresh Lime Juice – Luxardo Triplum Liquor – Saline Solution – Pink Guava Whipped Cream – Shaved Cinnamon
The Guava Clouds is a tropical-twist on The Bar’s classic margarita—an all-time favorite among Moniker’s regular imbibers and a worthy contender among the best margs in town. Building on a foundation of 100% blue agave tequila, triple sec and fresh lime juice, Moniker’s house-made pink guava syrup is paired with saline solution to accentuate the exotic citrus and soft acidity of the cocktail. To top it off, guava foam is whipped into a cloud-like head for added texture and garnished with a sprinkling of shaved cinnamon.
Santorini Citrus
Well Made Gin – Italicus Rosolio Di Bergamotto – Lillet Blanc French Aperitif – Peach Syrup – Hopped Grapefruit Bitters
Rosolio—derived from the Latin ‘ros solis’, meaning ‘morning dew’— is an ancient style of Italian liqueur that’s recently reclaimed popularity throughout the Mediterranean. For this reason, Matt created this cocktail to imitate the feeling of sipping a delectable aperitif on the Grecian coast. Floral notes take center stage, pairing gin’s botanical profile with that of Italicus’ herbal complexity, while the peach and hopped grapefruit harmonize to create a crisp, citrusy aftertaste. The Santorini Citrus is rounded out by the honey and pine resin of Lillet Blanc.
