The Best Brunch in San Diego Right Now (2026 Guide)

San Diego takes brunch personally.

Maybe it’s the weather – when every weekend feels like it was designed for sitting outside with a plate of something good and a drink that’s socially acceptable before noon. Maybe it’s the neighborhoods – North Park, Little Italy, Hillcrest, and Pacific Beach each developed their own brunch identities, and there’s real pride in knowing the right spots.

Whatever it is, San Diego’s brunch scene is deeper, more creative, and more worth your Saturday morning than most cities twice its size.

This guide is the brunch spots we actually go to – not a directory of everywhere that serves eggs. Organized by neighborhood, updated when something new opens that deserves the list.

We cover new restaurant and bar openings every Tuesday in The Craving. When something opens that changes the brunch conversation, it’ll show up here.

Table of Contents

Little Italy

Little Italy on a Saturday morning is a brunch experience even before you sit down – the farmers market runs from 8 AM to 2 PM, the streets fill up, and the neighborhood hums with the kind of energy that makes you want to cancel whatever you had planned for the afternoon.

Morning Glory
The most famous brunch in San Diego, and it earned it. The soufflé pancakes are the headline – impossibly fluffy, borderline architectural – but the fried rice and the Bloody Marys are what the regulars order. The wait: expect one to two hours on weekends. That’s not a typo. The move: go on a weekday morning, get there when they open, and skip the worst of it. Worth the wait at least once; worth the strategy every time after.

Kettner Exchange
Rooftop brunch with Little Italy views, creative cocktails, and a menu that leans creative without trying too hard. The vibe is more scene-y than some of the other spots on this list, which either appeals to you or doesn’t – but the food backs it up. The fried chicken and waffles and the breakfast burrito are the safe bets.

Coco Maya
Riviera Maya vibes right in the middle of Little Italy. Think graham cracker-crusted Dulce French Toast and dishes kissed by a coal-fired Josper oven. Coco Maya brings a bold, tropical energy to brunch – perfect when your usual rotation starts to feel a little predictable. Expect strong brunch cocktails and fun extras like mimosa towers to keep things lively.

North Park

North Park is brunch central for a reason: the concentration of options within walking distance means you can make a morning of it. Park once on 30th or University, walk, eat, caffeinate, repeat.

Flora – University Ave
One of North Park’s go-to brunch spots right now. Farm-to-table dishes in a space that’s lush and layered without feeling overdone – sunlight on pink tile, greenery against soft gold. The Turkish Eggs and steak sandwich are the headline orders. Weekdays come with a bonus: $15 bottomless mimosas Monday through Friday (90-minute limit). Reservations are encouraged – take the hint.

Farmer’s Bottega – Mission Hills
Farm-to-table brunch in the truest sense – the menu shifts with what’s in season, and the cooking stays simple without ever feeling boring. Expect Benedicts, omelets, scrambles, and a few Mexican-leaning plates in the mix. The back patio is the move: a charming greenhouse-style setup with heat lamps for cooler mornings. It’s the kind of neighborhood staple where regulars have their usual orders – and their usual seats. Also has a La Jolla location.

The MissionUniversity Ave
A true North Park brunch anchor. The Mission has been serving simple, healthy, well-executed brunch for years – long enough to earn a loyal following. No gimmicks, no viral dishes – just solid cooking, reasonable prices, and the kind of consistency that keeps people coming back. Also has locations in Mission Beach and East Village.

The Mission North Park

Madi – Normal Heights
All-day brunch with playful, retro energy and a bright patio that leans more breezy than tucked-away garden. Cool Cat Cakes, Ham Benny, and Waffle Churro Sticks are the go-to orders. Madi knows exactly what it is – fun, a little over-the-top, and not taking itself too seriously. If you want brunch that feels like a vibe, this is the spot.

Madi at Normal Heights

Crushed – University Ave
One of the few spots that nails both sweet and savory without making you choose a side. You can go classic with eggs or lean into French toast and pastries and feel just as good about it. Easy, reliable, and built for whatever kind of brunch you’re in the mood for. Also has a Pacific Beach location if you’re by the coast.

Hillcrest

Hillcrest’s brunch scene has the most variety – from upscale open-flame cooking to Cap’n Crunch flapjacks. Whatever your brunch mood is, Hillcrest has it.

Trust
A dinner restaurant that happens to serve brunch – and you can taste the difference. Wood-fired cooking, the same backbone of their dinner menu, carries through to the brunch dishes. Expect elevated plates and a strong cocktail program. The covered patio is the move, but the vaulted-ceiling interior holds its own. This is brunch for people who want to eat well, not just eat early.

insideOUT
One of the most visually striking brunch settings in San Diego. An urban oasis with open skies, a multi-level layout, and a water feature that makes the space feel like it shouldn’t exist in the middle of Hillcrest. The brunch leans polished but still fun – craft cocktails, creative plates, and a setting that turns a morning out into an experience. One of the hottest brunch spots in the city right now.

Hash House a Go Go
The portions here are ridiculous – in the best way. Sage fried chicken and waffles, massive hashes, and flapjacks the size of your head set the tone. This isn’t elegant brunch – it’s go-big-or-go-home brunch. Come hungry, settle in, and enjoy every second. A longtime San Diego staple for a reason.

Great Maple
A retro diner feel with French toast logs, pigs in a blanket, and chilaquiles in the mix. Great Maple hits that sweet spot between comfort food and something a little more polished. It’s the kind of place that works for a group – everyone ends up finding something they want without overthinking it.

Common Stock
Comfort-food brunch right on Hillcrest’s Fifth Avenue. The huevos rancheros – with bacon-infused beans, a fried egg, and crispy house-made tostadas – are the go-to order. Unpretentious, well-made, and exactly the kind of neighborhood spot you end up coming back to more often than you planned.

Pacific Beach & the Coast

Beach brunch is its own category in San Diego. The vibe shifts – everything is more relaxed, the views do half the work, and a bloody mary with an ocean breeze just tastes better.

JRDN (Inside Tower 23 Hotel)
The Bloody Marys here are some of the best in San Diego – and when you’re sipping them right on the boardwalk with Pacific Beach in front of you, it’s hard to beat. The brunch menu is solid across the board, but the real draw is the setting. If someone asks for “brunch on the beach,” this is the answer.

The Cottage La Jolla
A La Jolla institution that’s earned the title. Charming cottage setting, outdoor seating, and a brunch menu that keeps things simple and consistently good. It’s not trying to be trendy – and that’s exactly the point. Expect a wait on weekends, especially in summer, so get there early.

East Village & Downtown

Downtown brunch is growing – the East Village especially has started to develop the kind of walkable brunch culture that North Park has had for years.

Breakfast Republic – East Village
A go-to for creative, over-the-top brunch dishes. Expect playful menu items, big portions, and a lively atmosphere. It’s one of the most recognizable brunch brands in San Diego for a reason.

6th & G Breakfast – East Village
A bold, high-energy brunch spot in East Village from the team behind Breakfast Republic. Expect playful, over-the-top dishes like waffle pops, Turkish eggs, and chilaquiles. It’s indulgent, creative, and a little extra – in a good way. Come hungry and lean into the fun, because this is not a subtle brunch experience.

6th & G Breakfast Co

Cocina 35Downtown
If chilaquiles are your thing, this is the spot. A full menu built around them, with bold flavors and legit execution. One of the more unique brunch concepts downtown and worth going out of your way for.

Cocina 35 brunch spread

Gaslamp Breakfast CompanyGaslamp
Big portions, playful dishes, and a menu that leans indulgent. This is where you go when you want brunch that feels fun and a little over-the-top without trying too hard. Easy, satisfying, and right in the middle of everything.

North County

North County’s brunch scene has quietly become one of the best in the region – and these two spots are reason enough to make the drive.

Atelier Manna – Leucadia | Encinitas
Chef Andrew Bachelier (founding chef of Jeune et Jolie) brings a globally inspired brunch spot to Coast Highway – and it quickly earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand. The cooking is precise without feeling fussy, with standout dishes like çılbır, creative steak and eggs, and a standout torrija-style French toast. The zero-proof cocktail program is legit, with wellness drinks that actually taste good. It’s a small space with no reservations, so add yourself to the waitlist before heading over. Open Wednesday through Sunday, 9 AM – 2 PM.

Naked Cafe – Encinitas | Carlsbad | Solana Beach
A North County brunch staple that’s built its following on consistency. Naked Cafe leans health-forward without sacrificing flavor, with globally inspired dishes, hearty breakfast burritos, avocado toast done right, and flavorful huevos rancheros. Plenty of vegetarian options that feel intentional, not like an afterthought. No-frills, no pretension – just solid brunch in a neighborhood that takes its mornings seriously.

The Best Healthy Brunch in San Diego

Healthy brunch in San Diego does not mean skipping the fun. It means cleaner ingredients, better coffee, and plates that still feel like brunch.

Parakeet Cafe
Parakeet is the move when the group wants brunch, but half the table is pretending to be responsible. Go savory with All I Avo Wanted – a blue corn waffle with smashed avocado, feta, over-easy egg, chili flakes, hemp seeds, dill, and salsa macha – or the Power Rancheros if you want something heavier without going full nap-mode. Coffee matters here, too: the Honey Cinnamon Latte, Lavender Matcha Latte, and Mushroom Cacao Chai keep it from feeling like a sad, healthy option. Multiple San Diego locations, including Little Italy, Del Mar, La Jolla, La Jolla Cove, Coronado, and Carlsbad.

GOODONYA Organic Eatery – Encinitas
GOODONYA is the pick for the brunch table that reads ingredient lists but still wants pancakes. The Breakfast Burrito is the long-running order – pastured eggs, black beans, grass-fed Jack, avocado, and house-roasted salsa – while the Fried Egg Plate keeps it cleaner with arugula salad, sweet potato hashbrowns, and avocado. For drinks, go with the Nitro Cold Brew, Matcha Protein Latte, Green Juice, or Hello Hydration if the weekend already got away from us. Breakfast and lunch run daily from 7 AM to 4 PM at 1051 South Coast Highway 101.

The Bottomless Mimosa Situation

Let’s address this directly, because “bottomless mimosas San Diego” is one of the most-searched brunch queries in the city.

Los Panchos Tacos & Cantina – Hillcrest
Bottomless mimosas seven days a week for $25 – that alone puts this on the map. The desayunos brunch menu is solid, and the vibe leans lively, especially with weekend DJs and a buzzing patio. It’s one of the better-value brunch spots in the area if you’re going for energy as much as the food.

Flora – North Park
Bottomless mimosas Monday through Friday for $15 per person (90-minute limit) make this one of the best weekday brunch deals in the city – just note it’s not available on holidays. The menu leans creative but approachable, with standouts like Turkish eggs, steak sandwiches, and elevated brunch staples. Paired with a stylish, lively space, it’s an easy go-to for weekday brunch plans that feel a little more put together.
