Jeune Et Jolie + Campfire Team To Bring Two New Delicious Hospitality Projects To Carlsbad

There are two exciting new projects headed to Carlsbad! The brainchild of the team behind Michelin-recognized Jeune et Jolie and Campfire, owner John Resnick and Executive Chef Eric Bost, the projects are anticipated to debut in the latter half of 2023.

Jeune Et Jolie + Campfire Team

Two Restaurants Under One Roof

While still in the early planning phases, the ambitious project will feature two restaurants under one roof.

Both will occupy a 10,000 square-foot former garage space. The space is situated diagonally across from Jeune et Jolie. The entrances will border both State and Roosevelt streets to the east and west and the Buena Vista Lagoon Ecological Reserve to the north.

Wildland

Wildland will be an approachable, dynamic all-day neighborhood café. It’s also a bakery and bar influenced by old world tradition — but following its State Street siblings — strongly characteristic of the surrounding Southern California coastal community.

Adjacent to the reserve, the name is both a reference to the balance between man and nature. This includes the connection between the surrounding landscape and the fresh, unadulterated flavors that will be reflected in its menus.

The culinary offerings will be anchored by an in-house bakery, local produce, fresh pastas, and a centerpiece rotisserie and wood-fired pizza oven.

Wildland’s casual, no reservation all-day ethos will cater to ever-changing schedules and whims. All for a community seeking a delicious dawn to dusk option.

Lilo

Wildland’s more refined counterpart, Lilo, brings a fine dining perspective to the project. Planned for the 2,000 square-foot east corner of the space, Lilo (pronounced lahy-low) will be an intimate, standalone 22-seat chef’s table experience.

Lilo will feature a coastal and seasonal multi-course tasting menu. “Lilo,” as defined by author John Koenig, refers to a friendship that can lay dormant for years only to pick back up instantly. It’s as if no time had passed since you last saw each other.

Lilo will be a restaurant to celebrate relationships and rekindle connection.

The Carlsbad Restaurant Scene Continues Its Run!

Wildland and Lilo represent the latest efforts of Resnick and Bost to bring dynamic, delicious, and welcoming hospitality projects to Carlsbad.

Along with Campfire and Jeune et Jolie right down the street, both restaurants are sure to be great additions to the Carlsbad culinary scene, which has been on a hot run in recent years.

We can’t wait!

See you there, San Diego!
