Coastal Roots Farm Is Still Open To Get Food Into The Hands Of Those Who Need It
Coastal Roots Farm falls within Food and Agriculture, one of the Critical Sectors providing vital services, allowing them to continue their Food Distribution Program to get food into the hands of vulnerable members of the community.
Although Coastal Roots Farm events have been canceled or postponed through at least April 30, they are 100% committed to continuing with their Food Distribution Program to get food into the hands of vulnerable members of the community through the:
- Pay-What-You-Can Farm Stand
- Free food distributions to Vista Community Clinic and Camp Pendleton
- Free food donations to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Mercy Housing, and Community
- Resource Center
- Free food deliveries to local Holocaust survivors
The farm’s Food Distribution Program reaches an average of 2,500 people per month, but has already seen a much higher demand during this pandemic. During last Thursday and Sunday’s Farm Stand hours, double the amount of customers come in search of fresh, organic,
nutrient-dense produce and eggs.
They are taking all the proper safety precautions for their team and guests, and the entire team is supporting the production and distribution in order to meet demands.
The farm is also accepting donations to support their commitment to Nourish Community.
Stay healthy, San Diego!
