SUBmerged Bass Series Returns to Spin Nightclub

Same Same But Different is bringing the festival energy back to Spin Nightclub with the return of SUBmerged, its underwater-themed bass series leading up to SSBD 2026.

Designed as a four-show run, SUBmerged channels the playful, immersive spirit of the lakefront festival into a more intimate club setting. Each date brings a new headliner to the decks, while transforming Spin into a deep-sea world built for dancing.

Same Same But Different SUBmerged

A Four-Show Underwater Run

The series kicks off with a stacked lineup and continues throughout the summer, giving bass fans multiple chances to plug into the SSBD community before the main festival lands next year.

This year’s SUBmerged lineup includes:

  • April 25 – Dirt Monkey + Jaenga
  • June 20 – Late Night Radio
  • July 11 – Special Guest (to be announced)
  • August 15 – Maddy O’Neal

Dirt Monkey brings his gritty, funk-infused bass sound to launch the series, joined by Jaenga, whose genre-blending style continues to gain momentum in the experimental bass scene.

Later dates feature Late Night Radio’s soulful fusion of hip-hop, funk, and electronic beats, and a closing night set from Maddy O’Neal, known for her vibrant mix of funk, bass, and live instrumentation.

An Immersive Deep-Sea Dancefloor

SUBmerged is more than just a lineup – it’s a full theme. Spin Nightclub will be transformed into an aquatic fantasy complete with glowing jellyfish suspended overhead, bubbles drifting across the dancefloor, ocean-inspired lighting, and an octopus taking over the DJ booth.

Expect roaming underwater characters and production elements that blur the line between nightclub and immersive art experience. It’s a nod to the creative world-building SSBD is known for, just scaled down into a high-energy club environment.

A Taste of the Festival Vibe

For longtime SSBD fans, SUBmerged offers a way to reconnect with the community between festivals. For anyone new to the scene, it’s a chance to step into that world without leaving San Diego.

Whether you’re there for the basslines, the visuals, or the themed chaos, this series promises nights where the music hits hard and the bubbles keep floating.

See you there!

If you’re ready to dive into bass-heavy sets inside a full underwater takeover at Spin, SUBmerged is your cue to resurface on the dancefloor.
