Oceanside Dia De Los Muertos Festival Returns

Oceanside is set to transform into a colorful realm of remembrance and joy as the 23rd annual Dia de los Muertos Festival takes over downtown, blending tradition with contemporary flair.

Oceanside Dia de lost Muertos

Altars, Art, and Automobiles

At the heart of the festival are the breathtaking altars, lovingly crafted to honor departed loved ones. The Por Siempre Car Club adds a uniquely SoCal twist, turning classic cars into mobile memorials.

Imagine vintage trunks overflowing with marigolds, photos, and cherished mementos—it’s a sight that perfectly captures the festival’s spirit.

For those feeling creative, the interactive chalk cemetery invites everyone to leave their mark. You can create vibrant tributes with chalk, candles, and marigolds, turning the pavement into a canvas of memories.

A Feast for the Senses

The festival promises a sensory overload in the best way possible. An all-new Artisan Mercado will bring the vibrant aesthetics of Mexico to Oceanside’s streets. Browse unique crafts while savoring the aromas wafting from food booths offering traditional and fusion delights.

Entertainment That Moves the Soul

From the graceful movements of Ballet Folklorico to the mesmerizing Danza de los Diablos, there’s a performance to captivate every audience.

The Catrina Contest is sure to be a highlight, showcasing elaborate costumes that pay homage to the iconic symbol of the holiday.

A special treat awaits in the form of the Rubios Dances and Comparsas. These lively performances blend satire, tradition, and spectacle, offering a window into the rich cultural tapestry of Oaxaca.

From the guitar-strumming Rubios to the theatrical Muerteada parade, these acts promise to be as educational as they are entertaining.
