Part Time Lover Named One of the Best Bars in America by Esquire

CH Projects’ Part Time Lover has been recognized as one of Esquire’s Best Bars in America 2024! Out of the 42 drinking destinations on the list, Part Time Lover is one of only six California bars and the sole San Diego location.

Opened in June 2022, Part Time Lover features a listening bar with a high-fidelity analog sound system and a record store. It focuses on simple and affordable drinks, with a highlight on Japanese American highballs like the refreshing neon-green In Kaiju.

Part Time Lover

Another Win for CH Projects!

The announcement of Part Time Lover’s inclusion comes on the heels of The Lafayette Hotel & Club’s recognition as Esquire’s Hotel of the Year 2024 and marks the third time one of CH Projects’ concepts has made the Best Bars in America list.

This also includes J & Tony’s Discount Cured Meats and Negroni Warehouse, making the magazine’s 2021 list and Youngblood in 2022.

In awarding Part Time Lover a spot on the coveted list, Esquire’s Lifestyle and Culture Director, Kevin Sintumuang noted the bar’s “richly detailed space” and a soundtrack featuring “everything from acid jazz to deep house to tropicalia.”

CH Projects continues to draw national attention for their commitment to creating unique, immersive dining and drinking experiences.

Congrats to Part Time Lover for this recognition!

See you there!

Located on 30th Street, Part Time Lover is open daily from 4 PM to 2 AM for cocktails, music, and record shopping.
