Knockout Night in Little Italy Packs a Punch for Charity
Get ready to rumble, San Diego! Our beloved Little Italy is about to transform into a boxing ring for one electrifying night. The second annual Punches in Little Italy amateur boxing showcase, set to honor the legacy of Bobby DePhilippis, will light up Washington Elementary.
Bobby DePhilippis was the heart and soul of Little Italy. If you’ve ever savored a slice at Filippi’s Pizza Grotto (and who hasn’t?), you’ve tasted the legacy of this Hall of Fame boxing promoter and restaurateur extraordinaire.
This event is all about keeping his fighting spirit alive.
Ten Rounds of Thrills and Community Spirit
The air will be thick with excitement as 10 three-round bouts feature some of SoCal’s most promising amateur boxers. These young fighters will duke it out, showcasing the best of what USA Boxing has to offer.
This isn’t just about the sport. Last year’s inaugural event raised a whopping $40,000 for Washington Elementary School, with extra love shown to the Little Italy Association and Convivio.
We’re talking about making a real difference in our community, one punch at a time.
Your Ticket to Little Italy’s Big Heart
Besides the obvious thrill of live boxing, you’ll be supporting some fantastic local causes. Washington Elementary, a STEAM magnet school right in our backyard, serves kids who could use a little extra help.
The Little Italy Association works tirelessly to maintain and enhance our beloved neighborhood, keeping the streets clean, safe, and vibrant.
And let’s not forget Convivio, the cultural powerhouse dedicated to preserving and celebrating Italian heritage in San Diego through arts, education, and community programs.
See you there!
Whether you’re a boxing buff or just looking for a uniquely San Diego night out, this event has got you covered.
