Original 40 Brewing Unveils a Fresh West Coast IPA by New Head Brewer Kyle Fjalstad

Original 40 Brewing Company kicked off a bold new chapter with Wired Fences West Coast IPA, the first release from Head Brewer Kyle Fjalstad since joining the North Park brewery in January.

Known for his expertise in barrel-aging and hop-forward beers, Fjalstad brings years of experience from his time at Modern Times and a fresh perspective to Original 40’s lineup.

A Bright, Hop-Driven West Coast IPA

Clocking in at 6.4% ABV, Wired Fences delivers a punch of tropical flavors, with tasting notes of pineapple, guava, and lemon-lime. Brewed with Krush and Nelson Sauvin hops, this beer is designed to be hop-forward with no maltiness, a light-to-medium body, and low-to-medium bitterness—perfect for San Diego’s craft beer lovers.

“As you take a sip, you should feel the electric, hop-driven zing that makes this beer a true standout,” says Fjalstad. “It’s all systems go for me and my team here in North Park. There’s never a bad time to enjoy a West Coast IPA, especially in San Diego and especially with spring upon us.”
