Farmer’s Table Is What La Mesa Has Been Hungering For

East County’s got a new hotspot!

Celebrating the farm-to-table concept, Farmer’s Table proves that food doesn’t need to be complicated to be good. “‘Honest food done right’ pretty much sums up our mission,” says the restaurant’s co-owner Alberto Morreale.

The new food-to-fork destination brings together fresh and unique recipes from locally sourced organic ingredients to be savored in one uber comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

Here, you can get a drool-worthy meal just about any time of day. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Farmer’s Table’s menu borrows some show-stoppers from sister restaurant Farmer’s Bottega, including Bison Tartare, Pecan Crusted Chicken Sandwich, Kurobuta Pork Chop, and Tiramisu French Toast.

Farmer's Table

But the menu doesn’t stop there. Farmer’s Table gets how important pizza is to our state of mind and overall well being (thank you very much), so they’ve expanded the menu to include some seriously true Italian pizza.

How true? Scout the perimeter for a beautiful, light blue Stefano Ferrara pizza oven imported directly from Naples. It’s pumping out beauties like this:

And as you’re scanning the space, you’ll suddenly feel like you’ve stepped inside a barn situated atop the rolling fields of a rustic farm. The place is strewn with vintage and rough-hewn tables, light fixtures, living plant walls, and even a 1940s tractor!

Even the private dining area is decked with similar details. Separated from the rest of the restaurant by a working gate, the quiet space features rope fixtures and walls that are coated in a blue jean fabric to further accentuate the farmer feel.

80% of all the materials used in decorating Farmer’s Table is reclaimed – a true testament to owners Alberto Morreale and Vincenzo Loverso’s stance on the importance of sustainability and recycling to support our environment.

Quite a dominant figure in San Diego’s restaurant scene, Alberto also co-owns the highly successful Hillcrest and Liberty Station Fig Tree Café locations and is the owner of Farmer’s Bottega in Mission Hills.

Vincenzo previously opened Hillcrest’s Fresh Catch Fish Market & Grill and is currently the owner of San Diego Dining Group, which operates Greystone The Steakhouse, Osetra The Fishhouse, and Osteria Panevino.

Right in the heart of La Mesa, there’s no doubt that Farmer’s Table offers a dining experience you have to check out.

Let the natural flavors you’ll experience here (or perhaps this picture of just one of their epic Bloody Mary concoctions) speak for themselves, and let us know what you think!
