Trade the City for the Desert: Day and Evening Pool Passes at Jacumba Hot Springs

There’s a small desert town about an hour east of San Diego where natural mineral springs have been bubbling up from the earth for as long as anyone can remember. Wild horses roam nearby, the night sky is packed with stars, and the whole place moves at its own unhurried pace.

Jacumba Hot Springs has built something genuinely worth the drive – mineral pools, a bar and restaurant, live music, and day-use passes that make it easy to show up, soak, and leave feeling like a different person.

Jacumba Hot Springs

A Natural Escape One Hour Away

Jacumba sits tucked into the Sonoran Desert, about an hour east of downtown San Diego. The mineral pools are completely free of chemical treatments – the water flows directly from the earth, carrying a natural profile that’s been tied to healing and restoration for generations.

Pick Your Pool

The Ritual Pool is the largest on site and the social heart of the property, open to the sky with poolside dining, drinks, and cabanas available. A Solstice Pool Pass adds access to a quieter, more intimate pool at the center of the hotel. Both are adults-only (21+).

The Star Soak Pass offers evening access to the Ritual Pool starting at $20. The desert sky at Jacumba after dark is unlike anything in the city – soaking in mineral water while stars fill the horizon is the kind of thing that sounds almost too good until we’re actually doing it.

Cabanas and Group Visits

Ritual Cabanas fit up to 12 people, include eight all-day passes, and come with dedicated service, complimentary agua fresca, fresh towels, and lounge seating – running in five-hour blocks. For a smaller crew, the Caravan Lounge is complimentary with a food and beverage minimum and fits up to eight.

Eat, Drink, and Stay a While

Executive Chef Leonardo Ceja‘s menu draws from Imperial Valley farms, Baja seafood, and regional producers. The poolside menu covers everything from a Za’atar Bowl to locally sourced beef burgers, while the Exotic Desert Hideaway Bar keeps the group drinks flowing with frozen cocktails, Micheladas, and mimosa pitchers.

Make it a Regular Thing

Unlimited pool passes start at $59 a month, with weekday and any-day options available. Pass holders get discounts on cabanas, spa services, food and beverage, and hotel stays.

See you there!

An hour from downtown, Jacumba Hot Springs is the kind of reset we all need. Mineral water, desert air, good food, and a sky full of stars.
