Sip Pink Tea and Catch a Movie at La Valencia

Fall has officially arrived, and La Valencia Hotel is welcoming back two of its favorite autumn traditions: the annual Pink Tea benefiting Susan G. Komen San Diego, and the Poolside Movie Series.

Between the ocean views and the cozy fall vibes, this is shaping up to be one of the best ways to spend an October evening in La Jolla.

Tea, Treats, and a Great Cause

La Valencia celebrates the “power of pink” with the Pink Tea Series, a signature event honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month, featuring DAMMANN Frères teas, scones, savory bites, and pink-inspired pastries, all set against Pacific ocean views from the Mediterranean Room.

The final Pink Tea of the season gets a hauntingly elegant twist as a playful nod to Halloween. A portion of proceeds from every seating benefits Susan G. Komen San Diego, helping fund breast cancer research, advocacy, and care.

Poolside Movies Under the Stars

A little magic is coming to the Pink Lady all month long, with cozy poolside seating, ocean breezes, and plenty of autumn atmosphere setting the scene.

  • Wednesday, October 7: Practical Magic – A nostalgic favorite for anyone who loves a good witchy story.
  • Wednesday, October 14: Hocus Pocus – One of Halloween’s most beloved classics and practically required October viewing.
  • Wednesday, October 21: Halloweentown – Disney Channel nostalgia and a cozy night with witches, ghosts, and ghouls.
  • Wednesday, October 28: Twilight – Moonlight, vampire romance, and plenty of early-2000s nostalgia for Twihards.

Each screening starts at 6:45 PM, with festive bites and drinks available for purchase. Lounge chairs are first-come, first-served, so arrive early for the best seats. The entire series is open to the public.

Bring Your Dog for a Good Cause

Furry friends are welcome to join the movie nights too, with a $5 Pup Pass that benefits the San Diego Humane Society.

La Valencia’s signature dog menu will also be available, so your pup can enjoy the evening right alongside you. It’s a sweet, low-key way to turn movie night into a whole family affair, four legs included.

See you there!

Between the pink-hued afternoon teas and a month of cozy movie nights by the pool, La Valencia’s October lineup is a great excuse to soak up some fall spirit by the coast.
