Set Sail for Two Harbors: Catalina’s Summer Festival Lineup is Here

If you’ve never made it to Two Harbors, this is the summer to go. While most Catalina visitors stick to Avalon, the island’s west end is a different world – quieter, more rugged, and genuinely worth the extra effort to reach.

Catalina Island Company has lined up four events at Two Harbors between now and October, and each one is a solid reason to turn a day trip into a full weekend getaway.

Fire Up the Grill: Beach BBQ & Art Fest

The newest addition to the lineup kicks things off with a family-friendly festival right on the beach. More than a dozen vendors – including Avalon Smokehouse, Saucy Luke’s Craft BBQ, Full Send BBQ, OC Smokehouse, and Harbor Reef Restaurant – bring the smoke, and unlimited tastings mean you can work your way through the whole spread.

Between bites, there’s live entertainment, cooking and cutting demos, knife sharpening, local art vendors, and games. It’s a full-day hang.

All Hands on Deck: Buccaneer Days

The 36th annual Buccaneer Days is the most theatrical event of the summer – a three-day pirate festival with live music, costume contests, treasure hunts, and no shortage of food and drink.

Whether you pull in by boat, pitch a tent at Two Harbors Campground, or book a spot at Buffalo Park Campground, the vibe is full commitment to the bit. Boaters should lock in mooring reservations early. This one is also 21+.

Getting There

Two Harbors is only reachable by water – and that’s part of the appeal. Catalina Express runs daily from San Pedro directly to Two Harbors. You can also hop the Cyclone speedboat from Avalon, or arrive by private boat.

Note that transportation is not included in festival ticket prices. All four events tend to sell out, and accommodations are limited, so plan ahead if you’re turning this into an overnight.

See you there!

Four festivals, one remote island village, and a season full of reasons to finally make it out to Two Harbors.
