Acclaimed Chef Perfecte Rocher Joins CH Projects As Culinary Director
Consortium Holdings is expanding its culinary leadership with multiple new contributors, including the most recent addition of Perfecte Rocher as CH Director of Culinary Operations and a talented group of young R&D chefs.
Meet Chef Perfecte Rocher
Rocher brings a stellar culinary pedigree to the Consortium Holdings team having cooked in Michelin-starred kitchens around the world, including those of El Bulli and Martin Berasategui in Spain, as well as Campton Place, Gary Danko, and Manresa in the Bay Area and in Los Angeles, smoke.oil.salt which was exalted by Pulitzer Prize-winning restaurant critic, Jonathan Gold.
His 10-seat chef’s table restaurant Tarsan | Jane in Seattle was named one of the 10 best restaurants in the world by GQ.
Rocher will work alongside a team of four to five chefs that will lead the R&D for CH, supporting the group’s growth which includes the June 2023 opening of the Lafayette Hotel and the seven food and beverage concepts housed within the historic hotel.
“I’ve yet to see a restaurant group improve as they grow, and we are not an exception. But, we try to be vigilant in our self-awareness and connected to our deficiencies, and are always asking ourselves what we can be doing better,” says Founder, Arsalun Tafazoli. “I think with Perfecte’s experience in some of the most storied kitchens in the world, he’s uniquely positioned to help mentor and develop the next generation of young cooks and chefs in CH and beyond and I’m just happy to have someone like him in this city of ours.”
The Team
Chef Perfecte Rocher and the new R&D culinary contingent join longtime culinary team members, Executive Chef Jordan Beall at Neighborhood, Executive Chef Joel Cammet at Craft & Commerce, Executive Chef Steven Thorpe at Morning Glory and the recent addition of chef Danielle Van Steen, the Executive Chef at Ironside Fish and Oyster, who have been focused on creating an unmatched guest experience.
Rocher and the R&D culinary team will not be spending time in these established kitchens, but focusing solely on research and development across the CH brand. The chefs will be part of CH’s process as they embark on the new phase and evolution of the hospitality brand, which includes continuing to build on this multilateral culinary team and be a place for more learning, development and mentorship for young cooks in San Diego.
Congratulations to Consortium Holdings, Chef Rocher, and the San Diego foodie community!
