Del Mar Wine & Food Festival To Champion San Diego’s White-Hot Food Scene
San Diego is one of the nation’s most unique food landscapes fueled by a new generation of trailblazing chefs, year-round sunshine, access to more local farms than any other U.S. city, the most sustainable fishery in the nation, proximity to Mexico, and the West Coast wine regions.
With an evolving culinary scene that’s hotter than ever, a brand-new Del Mar Wine & Food Festival (September 6-11) is debuting as the city’s marquee culinary celebration in North County, where everyone from chefs and winemakers to professional athletes and celebrities are rallying together to propel San Diego into the spotlight as the next great dining destination.
Six Days of Awesome Festival Experience
The six-day Del Mar Wine & Food Festival offers 20+ North County-based events culminating in a two-day Grand Tasting at Surf Sports Park (former Del Mar Polo Fields).

The full schedule of events can be found here.
In attracting the biggest names in hospitality, sports, and music, ticket holders will experience SoCal lifestyle at its finest and participate in culinary-centric events where they can catch a wave with professional surfer, Rob Machado; suit up for NFL star Drew Brees’ celebrity pickleball tournament; take a yoga class with actress/chef Catherine McCord; explore a Dos Hombres Mezcal pairing dinner with Baja’s culinary icons led by former co-stars, Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston; or jam out with a country music rising star during a surprise after-hours concert.

The festival is garnering the support of new talent weekly. Notables include renowned chefs & TV personalities: Aaron May, Antonia Lofaso, Beau MacMillan, Benito Molina Dubost, Brian Malarkey, Claudette Zepeda, Claudia Sandoval, Drew Deckman, Erin Greenspan, Jackson Kalb, Roberto Alcocer, Silvio Salmoiraghi, Gwynn Food’s Kania Burnette and CEO Dr. Alicia Gwynn (wife of the late baseball legend and all around Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn), plus many more.

Del Mar Wine & Food Festival partners with Alex Morgan
Now, Alex Morgan, one of the most decorated players in women’s soccer history and captain of San Diego’s professional team Wave FC, has joined Del Mar Wine & Food as an official partner to herald San Diego’s credibility as a rising star among the nation’s top food cities.
“Soccer has taken me all over the world and has introduced me to some of the most unforgettable food and wine cultures,” says California native Alex Morgan.
“The energy and passion coming out of San Diego’s food scene is incredible, and the Del Mar Wine & Food Festival brings that all together. For my husband and I (Servando Carrasco, a San Diego native) it’s exciting to experience and taste it and to have our daughter grow up with the same beautiful memories of local food that we’ve shared together.”
A two-time World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist, Morgan will play her fourth Women’s World Cup this summer. While fans around the world may tune in to cheer on Morgan and other San Diego players named to their respective national team rosters, Del Mar Wine & Food will give festival attendees the opportunity to celebrate in person with the city’s hometown heroes, many returning home from Women’s World Cup, at the official opening night celebration on September 6th hosted by San Diego Wave FC and its decorated athletes.
