Explore 45 Local Spots at the Taste of Adams Avenue’s Silver Anniversary

The Taste of Adams Avenue is back for its 25th year, and the lineup of 45 local spots spread across one of San Diego’s most characterful corridors makes a pretty strong case for blocking off your Sunday.

Taste of Adams Avenue

A Neighborhood Crawl

Adams Avenue has always had a way of pulling people in – coffee shops that feel like living rooms, breweries tucked between bookstores, and restaurants that have been feeding the neighborhood for decades.

Once a year, the whole stretch opens up for one big communal tasting. It’s a self-guided food crawl where you can bounce between a ramen bowl, a scoop of ice cream, a cold craft beer, and a slice of cheesecake – all in one afternoon.

45 Spots, One Afternoon

Forty-five spots cover pretty much every craving – Hayes Burger, Nozaru Ramen, Trattoria Da Sofia, Incredible Cheesecake Company, Blind Lady Ale House, Lestat’s, Mission Brewing, and Wormwood, among many others.

From French bistros and Mexican food to island grill and tapas, the variety across University Heights, Normal Heights, and Kensington is hard to beat. The full list runs deep.

Making Your Way Down Adams

Walking or biking are the natural ways to do this, and the event runs a complimentary trolley service along the route for easy hopping between neighborhoods. There are also plenty of shops to duck into along the way.

Before You Go

Advance tickets are $55 and day-of tickets are $65. You can buy online at tasteofadams.com or in person at participating Taste locations starting in early June.

If you purchase online, skip to will-call on event day at Smitty’s Auto with your receipt and a valid ID – only the credit card holder can claim tickets. No QR codes, no SKUs, no resellers. This event has sold out 24 years straight, so don’t sit on it.

See you there!

Whether it’s your first Taste of Adams or your tenth, this is the kind of Sunday afternoon that makes San Diego feel like home.
