Art Alive 2023 Blooms At The Museum
Art Alive, The San Diego Museum of Art’s signature annual fundraiser, providing essential support for the Museum’s exhibitions, education, outreach, and public programs, is set to take place April March 30th-April 2nd this year.
SDMA’s Signature Fundraiser
Celebrate the return of Art Alive with an impressive display of colorful floral arrangements interpreting works of art from the Museum’s collection and four days of sensational events.
Talented floral designers fill the galleries with fragrant arrangements inspired by the Museum collection, offering a brilliantly colored backdrop for a weekend of beloved traditions and art-inspired activities.
Art Alive Modern Women
This year The San Diego Museum of Art is celebrating women by featuring an all-female cast of lead artists, designers, and musicians at Art Alive, taking inspiration from the recently opened Modern Women exhibition.
This exhibition celebrates the arrival of twenty works of art by women to the Museum including Sonia Delaunay, Françoise Gilot, and key Abstract Expressionists Lee Krasner and Elaine de Kooning.

Art Alive Premiere Dinner & Bloom Bash Kick Things Off
Art Alive is kicked off with two of San Diego’s most glamorous events!
The beloved annual Art Alive Premiere Dinner is an elegant black-tie affair; a rare opportunity to enjoy a private evening of enchantment at the museum.
Ticket holders celebrate art with a spectacular dinner in the galleries and get a first look at the incredible floral designs of Art Alive and a delicious multi-course menu of delectable delicacies and extraordinary entrees; a full bar; and decadent desserts.
Then Bloom Bash, perhaps San Diego’s party of the year, is a full-tilt night, high-voltage, late-night celebration that kicks off Art Alive weekend.
Ticket holders will revel in craft food and cocktails, art installations, live performances, and music, plus enjoy the Museum galleries as among the first to see the beautiful Art Alive floral exhibition.
