Jose’s Courtroom To Celebrate 50th Anniversary With “50ñera” Party
Jose’s Courtroom, the famed Mexican eatery in downtown La Jolla, will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a “50ñera” party on Saturday, November 5. The festivities, which will take place from its 11AM opening until close, include drink specials, a mariachi band during the day, and a DJ at night.
The drink specials, which run all day, are $5 house margaritas on the rocks, $5 Estrella drafts, and $5 El Jimador shots. The celebration is all ages until 8PM, when all guests must be 21 or older.
Jose’s has been owned by Tigg Mitchell since the summer of 2007. Chef Jose Rodriguez, who is not the restaurant’s namesake, has been working in the kitchen for 35 years.
If you can’t make it then, Jose’s has happy hour Monday-Thursday from 3PM-6PM with $5 house margaritas, $21 margarita pitchers, $6 Corona Premier and Modelo Especial, and 20% off all appetizers. “Its Taco Tuesdays” include these drink specials in addition to $3 street tacos.
The Jose’s Burger was once featured on the Travel Channel.
