On the Steps at SDMA
You’ll experience the legacy of symbolic imagery in Korean painting and art with outdoor activities, including:
- K-pop performances and featured artists, including LALARY, NK Dance Studio, Kasa Ignite Dance, Rule Breaka, and Master of Ceremonies, MC Maru
- Korean art-inspired craft-making stations for the whole family to enjoy
- Local artist booths featuring works on view for purchase
Korea in Color: A Legacy of Auspicious Images
The exhibition is currently making its U.S. debut at SDMA on view now through March 3, 2024. It sheds light on the use of color in Korean painting—known as polychrome painting (chaesaekhwa)—and its role in Korean culture.
Exactly fifty works of art are on view from multiple lenders that span a variety of media, including paintings, videos, and installations, many of which have never before been on view in the U.S.
Don’t miss out on free admission to the museum, including Korea in Color, from 1 PM to 5 PM on Saturday, January 20, complements of On the Steps at SDMA!
