The San Diego Fair’s Paddock Stage Lineup is Stacked This Summer
Every summer, the San Diego County Fair rolls out a full concert series on the Chevrolet Paddock Stage – and the best part is it’s all included with fair admission. No separate tickets, no upgrades. Just a full day at the Fair capped off with live music under the stars.
This year’s Party in the Paddock lineup runs from mid-June through July and covers a lot of ground – classic rock, alt-rock, tribute acts, Latin nights, country, EDM, and yes, a Shrek rave.
The Big Names on the Bill
A few headliners anchor the series. Blue Öyster Cult brings five decades of hard rock classics – “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Godzilla,” and “Burnin’ for You” among them. Jefferson Starship follows with their iconic San Francisco rock sound.
Grammy-winning brothers Los Lonely Boys bring their “Texican rock & roll” to the stage, and C+C Music Factory – fronted by Freedom Williams, the voice behind “Gonna Make You Sweat” – rounds out the headliner run. Alt-rock fans also get Hoobastank, who’ll be playing “The Reason,” “Crawling in the Dark,” and the rest.
Tribute Acts Worth Showing Up For
The tribute lineup this year is genuinely strong:
- ZZ Tex – the full ZZ Top experience, spinning guitars and all
- Red NOT Chili Peppers – funk-rock hits spanning every era of RHCP
- Kissed Alive – full KISS makeup, stage antics, and arena-rock anthems
- Chasin’ U – bringing the Morgan Wallen concert experience to the Fair
- Top of the World – a Carpenters tribute anchored by vocalist Debbie Taylor’s uncanny Karen Carpenter vocals
Latin Nights, Country, and EDM
The Paddock Stage goes well beyond rock. Domingueando DJ spins high-energy Latin beats and rock en Español across two separate nights, B-Side Players blend Latin and Caribbean rhythms with funk, rock, and hip-hop, and Banda Raíces Sinaloenses brings authentic Sinaloa banda to the stage.
Country Night and San Diego country-rock act The Morgan Leigh Band cover the twang side of things, while Brownies & Lemonade closes out the run on July 4th weekend with an EDM takeover featuring surprise artists.
The One You Didn’t See Coming
One night on the Paddock Stage is a little different from the rest. Shrekno is a full warehouse-style techno party with hardstyle Shrek remixes, 360° visuals, swampy vibes, costumes, themed cocktails, and nonstop EDM energy. It’s exactly what it sounds like, and it’s going to be a lot of fun.
