Step Into Orchidelirium at San Diego Botanic Garden’s World of Orchids Exhibition
The orchid craze is back—and it’s blooming with more beauty and drama than ever. San Diego Botanic Garden brings the Victorian orchid obsession to life with the return of its fifth annual World of Orchids inside the stunning glass-walled Dickinson Family Education Conservatory.

Orchidelirium Takes Root
This year’s theme, Orchidelirium, taps into the 19th-century mania that once drove European collectors to pay small fortunes for the world’s most exotic flowers.
Curated by local horticulturist Brandi Eide, the exhibit showcases hundreds of jaw-dropping orchids—including rare species, locally bred hybrids, and bold new displays that blend botanical artistry with historical flair.
Explore, Shop, and Get Hands-On
You can marvel at orchids on loan from the San Diego County Orchid Society and the Palomar Orchid Society, with special days featuring unique plant sales from local growers.
Want to take your orchid obsession home with you? Workshops like How to Succeed with a Grocery Store Orchid and Orchid Kokedama will get your green thumb in shape.

An Evening of Magic and Mystery
Don’t miss The Magic of Orchids—a special after-hours event filled with old-world enchantment, sideshow-style acts, and a splash of floral fantasy. It’s a one-night-only escape into the whimsical spirit of orchid mania.
