Karl Strauss Wraps Up a Milestone 35th Anniversary Year With Imperial Red Trolley

San Diego’s craft beer pioneer, Karl Strauss Brewing Company, is capping off its 35th anniversary with the release of Imperial Red Trolley, a bold reimagining of their award-winning flagship brew.

Since 1989, Karl Strauss has been leading the charge in the city’s craft beer scene, and this milestone year proves they’re just getting started.

A Year of Milestones

From innovative brews to refreshed spaces, Karl Strauss has marked its 35th year with exciting developments:

  • Follow the Sun Lager joined the year-round lineup, offering a crisp and refreshing option.
  • NA Red Trolley, their first non-alcoholic beer, brought big flavor without the alcohol.
  • Imperial Red Trolley debuted with notes of caramel and toffee, paired with an elevated 8.7% ABV, making it the perfect celebratory pint.

New Spaces to Enjoy

Karl Strauss is expanding and refreshing its spaces to connect with fans:

  • The new Karl Strauss Dos Lagos brewpub in Corona blends award-winning beer, an inventive food menu, and an arcade room for a unique brewpub experience.
  • The original Downtown San Diego brewery is undergoing a remodel to honor its legacy with updated interiors, restored brewing equipment, and displays celebrating its pioneering history.

Award-Winning Craft

This year, Karl Strauss earned major accolades:

  • Golden Stout won a Silver Medal at the 2024 World Beer Cup.
  • Brewmaster Paul Segura received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
