Matt Devine Brings an Immersive Sculpture Exhibition to OMA

Matt Devine: Walk with Me, an immersive sculpture exhibition, is set to debut at Oceanside Museum of Art from March 1 to July 6, 2025.

Known for his ability to transform industrial materials into serene, organic forms, renowned sculptor Matt Devine invites you to experience the calming rhythms of nature through steel and aluminum sculptures, suspended works, and intricate wall installations.

Matt Devine: Walk with Me

A Meditative Journey Through Sculpture

Inspired by the landscapes near his rural Oregon home, Walk with Me is a deeply personal collection that reflects Devine’s journey of overcoming mental health challenges through daily walks and creative meditation.

Each piece—whether a free-standing steel form, a suspended aluminum sculpture, or an intricate wall installation—captures the gentle movement of nature. The arc of a bird in flight, the rustling of leaves, or the soft rhythm of falling rain are distilled into abstract forms, creating a serene and grounding experience.

Matt Devine: Walk with Me

A former San Diego resident for two decades, Devine’s artistic roots run deep in Southern California. His signature fusion of nature and industry, light and shadow, chaos and order, has made him a celebrated figure in contemporary sculpture.

You may already be familiar with his iconic sculpture outside OMA, a longstanding symbol of the museum’s role as a cultural gateway.
