Puffer Malarkey Collective Kicks-Off Kooky Pop-Up Series
This summer the classic American barbeque mainstay is getting a culinary makeover from the acclaimed chefs at Puffer Malarkey Collective through a series of guerilla hot dog cart pop-ups all around San Diego County!
On May 6th, Chef Tara Monsod of Animae kicked off this kooky series at the Market on 8th food hall in National City with her Mapo Tofu Dog and debuted the custom-painted hot dog cart, designed by local artist, Koy Suntichotinun, which will be a feature at each of the pop-ups and reflect the unique stylings of the corresponding chef.
The line stretched long as devoted Chef Tara fans and curious community members waited patiently to snag a limited edition, Asian-fusion hot dog before they sold out.
Upcoming cart pop-ups!
The next installment of the Puffer Malarkey Collective hot dog cart is scheduled for June and will be hosted by Herb & Wood. Expect Chef Carlos Anthony’s creative offerings to be influenced by his expertise in whole-animal butchery.
Then, later this summer, Herb & Sea will wrap up the pop-up series in North County with coastal-inspired hot dogs developed by Chefs Carlo Guardado and Marissa Williams.
Keep your eyes peeled to the restaurant’s social pages for details on where to snag the hottest dogs in town!
See you there, San Diego!
