Robert Wilson’s Celebrity Video Portraits Exhibition Comes To MOPA

Artist Robert Wilson’s Video Portraits exhibition at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) at Balboa Park is now open to the public and features celebrities like Lady Gaga, Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., and Isabella Rossellini, among others.

A stunning ensemble of characters and moods

This is no ordinary portrait exhibition – Wilson’s video portraits are slow-moving, high-definition captures, creating a stunning ensemble of various characters and moods. Wilson’s innovative approach challenges the conventional notions of portraiture expanding the possibilities for representing individuals and art.

The exhibition features a diverse range of subjects including people from different ethnicities, genders, ages and backgrounds exploring the concept of identity through lighting, color and movement.

Celebrating 40 years of MOPA in Balboa Park

In celebration of its 40th year in Balboa Park and 50th year as an independent photography museum, MOPA is proud to bring this exhibition to San Diego from April 1 to September 24, 2023.
