San Diego Theatre Month is Back: Making Live Performance Accessible to All

San Diego’s theatre scene is having a moment – and this March, it’s more accessible than ever. San Diego Theatre Month returns for its 11th year, bringing dozens of performing arts organizations together under one mission: getting more people through the doors and into a seat.

San Diego Theatre Month

$15, $30, and $45 Tickets All Month Long

The whole idea behind Theatre Month is simple but powerful. Participating organizations across San Diego County are offering value-priced tickets at three tiers – $15, $30, and $45 – so that cost doesn’t stand between us and a great night out.

That means we can catch a big regional production, discover a smaller neighborhood company we’ve never visited before, or do both in the same month without breaking the bank. With shows spanning comedy, drama, musicals, new works, and family programming, there’s genuinely something for every kind of theatregoer.

From First-Timers to Longtime Fans

Whether we’ve never set foot in a theatre or we already have a favorite company we follow religiously, Theatre Month is built for all of us. It’s the kind of event that lowers the barrier to entry while celebrating everything that makes San Diego’s performing arts community so worth showing up for.

As SDPAL President Jay Henslee put it, San Diego has one of the most dynamic theatre communities in the country – and this is the open invitation to experience it firsthand.

Meet the 2026 Artist Ambassador

This year, SDPAL is shining a light on the creative voices behind the curtain. Award-winning playwright Christian St. Croix has been named the official 2026 Artist Ambassador for Theatre Month. His words say it well: “Every lasting moment in my career came from someone choosing to make space.”

It’s a reminder of what Theatre Month is really about – artists and audiences showing up for each other.

How to Follow Along and Get Tickets

Throughout March, readers can follow @sdartstix on Instagram for artist takeovers, behind-the-scenes content, and personal invitations from performers and designers across the region. It’s a great way to discover shows of interest before securing tickets.

All participating shows and ticket links are available on the official event website, where listings connect directly to each theatre’s box office for easy booking. San Diego Theatre Month is produced by the San Diego Performing Arts League, the nonprofit organization that also operates ArtsTix, San Diego’s only nonprofit ticket center.
