SeaWorld San Diego’s Summer Spectacular is the Park’s Biggest Season Yet

SeaWorld San Diego is kicking off its most ambitious summer season to date, and the lineup reflects it. From a first-ever nightly drone show to reimagined animal experiences and a brand new shark exhibit, there’s a lot coming to the park this summer.

And that’s before getting to the concert series. Every Saturday from early June through late August, Summer Spectacular brings a full night of live music to the bay, making it a genuine all-day, all-night destination.

Enjoy New and Exciting Events at SeaWorld Summer Spectacular

What’s New This Summer

Several new experiences debut when the season opens, and together they cover a lot of ground.

Leading the charge is Ocean of Dreams – 600 fully synchronized drones lighting up the night sky to a soaring soundtrack, bringing dolphins, sea otters, sharks, and a majestic orca to life in vibrant aerial formations before a dazzling neon finale. It’s the first nightly drone show at any California attraction.

From there, the all-new Shark Encounter takes things underwater – starting with a coastal scene filled with sharks and colorful fish, moving through educational displays and shark feedings, and eventually opening up into a breathtaking 180-degree viewing tunnel where sharks from 11 species glide right overhead.

Dolphin Adventures is a fully reimagined show featuring dolphins, pilot whales, and a next generation of dolphins. Music, staging, and plenty of high-energy moments from some of the ocean’s most charismatic animals.

Rounding out the new debuts: The Wonders of North American Wildlife, an educational presentation highlighting native wildlife across the continent, and Deep Sea Disco, a nightly dance party under the glow of SkyTower lights where the Rhythm of the Reef dancers teach under-the-sea moves and build to a high-energy finale.

Nighttime Animal Experiences

Starting in mid-June, three all-new nighttime animal presentations join the lineup. Shamu Celebration: Light Up The Night showcases the power and grace of killer whales after dark.

Dolphins: Touch the Sky features bottlenose dolphins alongside an energetic soundtrack celebrating the connection between humans and the natural world.

Sea Lions Tonite – already running since spring – continues to bring fast-paced comedy and personality with all-new surprises.

Returning Favorites

BMX Blast! Powered by BODYARMOR is back with world-class stunt riders throwing tail whips, bar spins, and backflips to a live band playing pop-punk hits from the late nineties.

And Pirates Ahoy! The Battle for Mermaid Cove returns with an action-packed water stunt show pitting sword-swinging pirates against mermaids in a swashbuckling spectacle on the high seas.

Every Saturday from early June through late August, SeaWorld hosts a concert featuring R&B, hip-hop, and rap artists from the ’90s and early 2000s, all included with park admission. Reserved seating is available for those who want to secure a great spot in advance. The full lineup:
