Farm-Fresh Produce Makes A Comeback In The Heart Of Downtown Chula Vista

The Third Avenue Village Association is excited to announce their newest project, the Third Avenue Village Market, in cooperation with farmer’s market veteran, Catt Fields White of San Diego Markets.

Starting May 8th, every Sunday from 10AM-2PM, community members will be able to shop for the freshest produce, pastured eggs, freshly baked breads, sauces, and flowers from over 60 local farmers and vendors on Park Way between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue.

The perfect Sunday family tradition

“We are so excited to bring a new and much needed farmer’s market into the neighborhood,” said Dominic Li Mandri, District Manager of Third Avenue Village Association. “It’s important for us to continue to create fun, family-friendly events and activities, and increase the neighborhood’s quality of life. This new Third Avenue Village Market is the perfect Sunday family tradition to do just that, and we can’t wait for everyone to enjoy it.”

“We’re thrilled to bring South Bay residents tasty farm-fresh food, and the chance to get to know the people who grow and produce what they feed their families, at the new Downtown Chula Vista farmers’ market,” said Catt Fields White, Market Director of the Third Avenue Village Market. “This wonderful historic neighborhood is growing and it’s a privilege to create a community resource that will grow with it while strengthening local food systems and supporting small businesses.”

About Catt Fields White

Catt Fields White has been a leader in the farmer’s market industry since 2008, developing San Diego’s largest farmers’ market, the Little Italy Mercato, as well as markets in Pacific Beach, North Park and other local communities.  Originator of the Vendor-101 Program that incubates small businesses, InTents: The Farmers Market Conference, and Tent Talk, the weekly Farmer’s Market podcast, Catt and her team focus on giving small farmers and food vendors the A-Z on building their businesses, advanced training for market managers and creating an overall supportive environment to make farmer’s market operations and businesses less stressful.

A lemon capital and a farmer’s delight

Since its inception, Chula Vista has not only been known as the lemon capital of the world, but also a farmer’s delight for tomatoes, grapes, strawberries, celery, and cucumbers. With this new market, the Third Avenue Village Association hopes to not only give everyone better access to fresh ingredients and local specialties, but also pay tribute to Chula Vista’s rich agricultural history.
