SoCal’s Top Filipino Chefs Join Tara Monsod At Animae’s FAHM Kamayan Dinner

San Diego and Los Angeles, the two biggest Filipino communities in the country, are coming together in honor of Filipino American History Month (FAHM) as Chef Tara Monsod of San Diego’s Animae hosts top Filipino chefs from LA for a special FAHM Kamayan dinner to benefit the Karangalan Scholarship.

Tara Monsod At Animae’s FAHM Kamayan Dinner

FAHM Kamayan Dinner to serve communal-style Filipino feast

The communal-style Filipino feast will be held at Animae on Thursday October 26th with seatings from 5PM to 7:30PM.

Monsod will be bringing in friends and fellow Fil-Am guest chefs to collaborate on this dinner, including Chef Phillip Esteban, owner and chef behind San Diego’s White Rice and his non-profit organization Open Gym.

Coming down from LA for the occasion to join chefs Tara and Phillip are eminent chefs Nico de Leon of Lasita (recently recognized as one of the best restaurants in LA by The New York Times),  Johneric Concordia of The Park’s Finest, and Pastry Chef at the two Michelin starred n/naka Rice Dulguime-Thunyakij.

Drawing on their commonality of using food as a means to bring together diverse populations and sharing a passion for putting Filipino cuisine in the spotlight, the chefs invite the community to join them for a feast that celebrates the Filipino-American experience.

Experience a festive meal by SoCal’s top Filipino Chefs

FAHM Kamayan Dinner will feature a communal-style Filipino feast prepared collaboratively by the chefs, served on banana leaves and eaten without utensils.

In its 20 years of existence, the Karangalan Scholarship has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships. Tickets will be available in limited quantities via OpenTable.

See you there, San Diego!
