Gaslamplighter Welcomes Industry Veteran David Tye To Spearhead Beverage Program

Gaslamplighter, San Diego’s highly anticipated luxury cocktail and karaoke lounge, announced the appointment of David Tye to lead beverage program developer.

With an impressive career spanning two decades in the bar and restaurant industry, Tye is a celebrated San Diego cocktail connoisseur, renowned for his commitment to crafting top-of-the-line beverage programs and delivering elevated guest experiences.

Nominated for “Bartender of the Year”

Tye brings a rich blend of expertise to Gaslamplighter as he previously designed, operated, and managed renowned San Diego bars and restaurants. While Tye was serving as general manager of Kingfisher, the San Diego restaurant received prestigious accolades including Eater San Diego’s “2022 Restaurant of the Year,” Bon Appétit Magazine’s “50 Best New Restaurants in America in 2022” and an inclusion in the 2022 Michelin Guide.

Tye is a Bar-5-Day graduate, the most comprehensive spirits education program in the world, in addition to being nominated for “Bartender of the Year” by Eater San Diego.

“I’ve been fortunate to have worked with Gaslamplighter’s great team in the past, so to be back working among such talent and a breadth of experience is exciting,” said Tye. “I’m looking forward to creating a fun and high-quality beverage program to help give all of our guests the liquid courage they need to sing their hearts out. Gaslamplighter’s goal is to put great drinks in guests’ hands fast, so they can focus on getting back out on stage.”

In this role, Tye will spearhead the creation of Gaslamplighter’s beverage program, including assembling a team of experienced bartenders and creating the venue’s elevated craft cocktail and mocktail menu. Under Tye’s direction, the cocktail and karaoke concept’s menu will offer a new take on classics with a focus on complex flavors, aesthetics and speed of service.
