Musical Magic Sweeps San Diego This November

From toe-tapping jazz to soul-stirring classical piano and even a Disney singalong that’ll have the whole family belting out tunes, the La Jolla Music Society is bringing the heat this November.

Jazz That Feels Good in Your Soul

Kicking things off on November 2, Sammy Miller and The Congregation are bringing their “joyful jazz” to The JAI. With two shows at 6 PM and 8:30 PM, these cats are ready to turn The Conrad into a swinging jazz club.

A Piano Virtuoso Takes Center Stage

On November 8, the Baker-Baum Concert Hall welcomes renaissance woman Hélène Grimaud. This isn’t just a piano recital; it’s a journey through the mind of an artist whose talents stretch far beyond the keys. Grimaud’s poetic expression and technical mastery promise an evening of musical transcendence.

New Kids on the Classical Block

The Discovery Series lives up to its name on November 10, introducing San Diego to the fire and electricity of Trio Bohémo. Fresh from their Special Prize win at the ARD Music Competition, these newcomers are set to prove why critics are raving about their electrifying performances.

Disney Magic Comes to Life

Hold onto your sombreros, because November 17 brings Disney’s Encanto to the Balboa Theatre like you’ve never experienced it before. This sing-along film concert features a live band performing all those earworm hits.

Free Outdoor Concerts for All

LJMS isn’t stopping there. They’re also offering two free outdoor concerts as part of their World Strings series. Catch the romantic sounds of Mariachi Águila on November 7, and groove to the “great American sound” of the Alex Ciavarelli Trio on November 22, both at The Wu Tsai QRT.yrd.
