Polite Provisions Reopens in North Park With a New Menu and Classic Charm

North Park’s beloved Polite Provisions has made a grand return, bringing with it a refreshed menu, updated interiors, and the familiar faces that helped define San Diego’s cocktail culture.

The Polite Provisions reopening marks an exciting new chapter for the award-winning CH Projects bar, a cornerstone of North Park’s vibrant drinking and dining scene for nearly a dozen years.

With this relaunch, it’s doubling down on its signature 1920s apothecary-inspired experience.

A New Era of Cocktails

The new menu is an ode to both tradition and innovation, featuring five distinct sections packed with imaginative cocktails, housemade sodas, and non-alcoholic options. Designed with vibrant illustrations and quotes from renowned bartenders, thinkers, and writers, the menu is as visually stunning as it is enticing.

Expect a mix of classic cocktails and contemporary creations like:

  • Say Less: Raspberry, juniper berry, Ketel One vodka, triple berry jam, rose hip, lemon, sparkling wine
  • Uncle Jalapeño: Blanco tequila, jalapeño & pineapple soda
  • Speak of the Devil: Wild Turkey 101 rye whiskey, Campari, amaretto, lemon, blood orange sherbet
  • Expect the Unexpected: Aviation Gin, strawberry amaro, Dr. Pepper cordial, pineapple, Benedictine
  • Easy Does It: Patron Reposado tequila, Wild Turkey 101 rye whiskey, Pierre Ferrand cognac, red berry, pomegranate, cacao, lemon
  • Fit Check: Bombay London dry gin, cassis, grape, bitter bianco, lime, seltzer

“We are excited to welcome the neighborhood back to experience our new cocktail menu, inclusive of 30 new offerings and a variety of non-spirited options,” says Alicia Perry, Beverage Director for CH Projects.

“Our doors are open, and we invite you to enjoy an evening at Polite any day of the week, with full dinner service available next door at Fortunate Son.”

Classic Ambiance With Modern Updates

While many cocktail bars have embraced a more laid-back, casual approach, Polite Provisions is fully committed to its vintage-inspired roots. The updated space retains its old-timey soda fountain charm, now with refreshed interiors and exteriors that enhance the nostalgic aesthetic.

Plus, the return of beloved bar manager Frank McGrath ensures that the heart and soul of Polite Provisions remain intact.

See you there!

From its dazzling housemade sodas and elixirs to its commitment to high-quality craft cocktails, Polite Provisions reopening is set to reinvigorate San Diego’s cocktail culture. Stop by for a sip of history, a taste of the future, and a cocktail experience like no other.
