Urban Halloween Magic at Little Italy’s Trick-or-Treat on India Street
Little Italy is transforming India Street into one giant trick-or-treat route, and honestly, it’s way more fun than wandering around residential neighborhoods hoping random houses have candy.
Kids can hop from business to business along the historic street while the Piazza della Famiglia gets a full Nightmare Before Christmas makeover with a 13-foot Jack Skellington and massive pumpkin stacks for photo ops.

How This Actually Works
Maps are available at the Piazza della Famiglia (India and W. Date Street), so you can plan your route or just wander and see what happens.
Cedar through Grape Street closes down for the event, which means actual street space for kids to move around safely without dodging cars.
Participating Little Italy businesses hand out treats instead of random houses, which creates a more controlled environment for parents who prefer knowing where their kids are going. Plus, the businesses tend to go bigger with decorations and candy than your average residential setup.
The Piazza Transformation
The Nightmare Before Christmas theme in the Piazza della Famiglia is a smart choice—recognizable enough that kids get excited, spooky enough to feel Halloween-appropriate, and visually impressive enough to warrant stopping for photos.
A 13-foot Jack Skellington and large pumpkin displays create Instagram moments that adults actually want to capture.
The centralized photo location means you’re not chasing kids around trying to get group shots—everyone knows where to meet up for pictures.

Why This Works Better Than Regular Trick-or-Treating
Urban trick-or-treating concentrates everything into a walkable area with businesses that are actually expecting you. No awkward moments knocking on doors wondering if they’re participating. No houses with lights off and disappointing kids. Just a straightforward route with guaranteed candy stops and festive atmosphere.
The business participation also means better decorations and often more generous treat distribution than residential areas. Little Italy goes all-in on community events, so expect effort beyond just bowls of mini candy bars.

See you there!
Grab a map at the Piazza when you arrive, scope out which businesses are participating, and decide if you’re doing a strategic sweep or just wandering. The four-hour window is generous enough that you don’t need to rush, though arriving earlier probably means fuller candy bowls at each stop.
