Two New Dolphin Babies Just Made SeaWorld San Diego Even More Magical
SeaWorld San Diego just welcomed two adorable bottlenose dolphin calves! Jupiter and Phin are the newest stars of the park’s dolphin program, and watching these little guys grow up is going to be one of those experiences that reminds us why San Diego‘s marine life scene is so special.

Meet the New Arrivals
Jupiter and Phin arrived in late 2024 and early 2025, and they’re already stealing hearts. These healthy male calves are thriving alongside their first-time moms, Corona and Coco, in what’s becoming quite the family affair.
Corona is actually the daughter of Cometta, one of the park’s longtime residents, which makes Jupiter part of a pretty amazing dolphin legacy.
What we love most is watching how these little ones are already showing off their personalities. They’re nursing like champs, growing rapidly, and displaying all those curious, playful behaviors that make dolphin watching so captivating.
The animal care team is keeping a close eye on them as they hit their developmental milestones, and soon they’ll be ready to join the larger pod.
The Rescue Stories That Warm Our Hearts
But here’s what makes 2025 even more special—Jupiter and Phin aren’t the only young dolphins calling SeaWorld home. They’re joined by Chance and Cardiff, two common dolphins with incredible rescue stories that showcase the best of San Diego’s marine conservation efforts.
Cardiff’s story is particularly touching. He was found on Cardiff Beach with a fractured jaw and head trauma when he was just a few months old. Thanks to the intensive care from SeaWorld’s Rescue Team, he made a complete recovery, though his age and injuries meant he couldn’t be released back into the wild.
Chance has an equally remarkable beginning. He was discovered abandoned and in critical condition in the South San Diego Bay salt flats, but after successful rehabilitation, he’s now thriving at the park alongside his new friends.

Why This Matters for All of Us
These births and rescues represent something bigger than just cute marine animals—they’re part of SeaWorld’s incredible track record of helping over 42,000 animals in need.
Whether it’s providing expert care for multiple generations of dolphins or stepping in to save abandoned calves, the work happening here connects directly to the health of our local marine ecosystems.
When we visit and watch these dolphins grow, learn, and play together, we’re witnessing conservation in action.
The dolphin habitat serves as a living classroom where young dolphins learn from their elders, develop social bonds, and become confident members of their pod—all while helping us understand and appreciate marine life in ways we never could otherwise.
