Honoring a San Diego Legend: Peter Seidler’s Day of the Dead Tribute

Old Town’s getting a touch of Padres magic this Día de los Muertos. Casa Guadalajara, that beloved Mexican spot we can’t get enough of, is transforming its entrance fountain into a vibrant Dia de los Muertos altar dedicated to the late Peter Seidler.

A Splash of Tradition, A Pinch of Padres

Marigolds burst with vibrant hues, sugar skulls grin cheekily, and flickering candles cast a warm glow. Amidst this traditional scene, Padres memorabilia and heartwarming photos of Seidler add a distinctly local touch. It’s a Day of the Dead celebration that’s as San Diego as fish tacos and sunset surf sessions.

Sip for a Cause

We’re raising our glasses (and our spirits) with the Lucky Duck Margarita. It’s not just a drink—it’s a chance to keep Seidler’s legacy of compassion alive. Casa Guadalajara and its sister restaurants are donating 20% of each margarita’s proceeds to the Lucky Duck Foundation, Seidler’s passion project for helping our homeless neighbors.

Casa Guadalajara Sip for a Cause

This isn’t your average Dia de los Muertos altar. It’s a community coming together, remembering Peter Seidler, one of our own who made San Diego a better place. And let’s be real—any excuse to visit Old Town is a good one, right?

See You There!

The altar’s up and waiting for you at Casa Guadalajara (4105 Taylor Street, Old Town) from now until November 2. Doors are open daily from 11 AM to 9 PM.

Let’s celebrate life, remember those we’ve lost, and keep the spirit of giving alive—just as Peter would have wanted.

See you there, San Diego!
