Veranda at Hotel del Coronado Brings a Fresh Take on Oceanfront Dining

Hotel del Coronado is introducing a stunning new oceanfront dining experience with Veranda, set to open in April 2025. Taking over the space formerly known as Sheerwater, Veranda will honor The Del’s rich history while offering a fresh twist on American cuisine.

This latest addition to The Del’s $550 million revitalization project will complement the highly anticipated Nobu Del Coronado, opening in May 2025, further elevating the hotel as a premier culinary destination.

A Nod to History, A Taste of the Future

Inspired by the hotel’s original wraparound veranda, where guests once strolled and took in the ocean breeze, Veranda blends timeless charm with a modern garden-inspired design.

The 159-seat restaurant (with 18 indoor seats) offers a welcoming, al fresco setting that invites you to linger over incredible food and breathtaking views of the Pacific.

A Menu Rooted in SoCal’s Culinary Traditions

Helmed by Executive Chef Brian Archibald, the Veranda menu is a celebration of locally sourced ingredients and bold flavors. Expect a mix of American classics with a twist, including:

  • Grilled California Artichokes
  • Broiled West Coast Oysters with chorizo butter
  • Certified Angus Beef Steaks
  • Dungeness Crab “Wedge”
  • Whole Red Mountain Trout Noisette

Veranda will also feature specialty nights:

  • Wednesday: Signature fried chicken
  • Thursday: Herb-crusted Creekstone prime rib
  • Friday: Seafood boil with Maine lobster tail, Sea Cortez shrimp, and Dungeness crab

Pair it all with classic cocktails with a modern twist and a California-forward wine list spotlighting both well-loved and under-the-radar gems.
