La Jolla’s Iconic Marine Room Makes A Splash With Long-Awaited Return Of High Tide Dinners
High Tide Dinners at The Marine Room, a sophisticated staple of La Jolla’s seaside dining scene and signature coastal restaurant at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, marks its return, June 12 through 14.
Marine Room shows off the majesty of nature
Regularly open Wednesday through Sunday, the restaurant will also open its doors on select Mondays and Tuesdays in July, August, and September during the dramatic high tide events to accommodate guests wanting to witness the majesty of Mother Nature as they enjoy a four-course dinner by acclaimed Executive Chef Mike Minor.
“We are delighted to bring back this popular dinner series offering our guests a front row seat to the spectacular power of the ocean,” said Executive Chef Mike Minor. “The new menu, which showcases seasonal ingredients and the freshest offerings from our local waters, provides the perfect pairing for a truly spectacular show.”
High Tide Dinners selections
The special four-course Hide Tide Dinners menu offered at the 7:30PM seating features the following selections:
- Special Amuse Bouche from the Chef
- APPETIZER (choice of one)
Crab Corn Bisque: spring corn, poblano relish, corn violate, king crab | Ora King Salmon Cornets: salmon belly, yuzu crème, Ossetia gold caviar | Seared Ahi Salad: blood orange vinaigrette, wild rocket, avocado, EVOO | Dry Aged Beef Tartare: hand cut strip steak, crispy capers, cured egg yolk, mustard aioli.
- MAIN COURSE (choice of one):
Wagyu Ribeye: blackberry butter, purple brussels, spring onion, gorgonzola potato puree | Surf and Turf main lobster, filet mignon, bone marrow butter, white asparagus | Alaskan Halibut & Caviar clams, roasted carrots, lemon thyme bur blanc | Szechuan Pork Chop: apple pear cilantro chutney, seared garlic greens.
- DESSERT (choice of one):
Flourless Chocolate Cake | Strawberry Cheesecake | Lemon Lavender Cake
Indulgent upgrades and special treat
In addition to the featured menu items, guests will have the option to choose from indulgent upgrades including table side truffle service, table side caviar service, and a fresh lobster tail.
As a special treat, diners will be sent home with a house-made chocolate in the shape of The Marine Room’s iconic seahorse logo, a symbol that has become synonymous with luxury dining in the San Diego food scene.

The Hide Tide Dinners will be offered on June 12-14, July 11-13, August 9-11, and September 8-9.
Guests can choose from the à la carte seasonal dinner menu at the early seating starting at 5PM or the four-course prix fixe menu at the late seating starting at 7:30PM, with peak high tide taking place around 8PM.
