Where To Celebrate Oktoberfest In San Diego

Prost! Dig the lederhosen and dirndl out of the closet and grab your best stein, it’s that time of year again for the most famous of German traditions: Oktoberfest!

And given our city’s love of beer, you have a lot of options to celebrate Oktoberfest in San Diego. Here’s a guide to help you plan your celebration!

Societe Brewing | September 16

Societe Brewing Annual Oktoberfest

It’s going to be a day full of games, markets, and mugs full of beer at Societe Brewing.

  • All Day: $5 stein fills of our Festbier, Pilsner, Light Beer, and West Coast Lager
  • 12PM: Pretzel eating contest
  • 1PM: Strongest person contest (Stein holding)
  • 2PM-7PM: I ❤️ Indie Market

There will also be a limited number of custom ceramic steins available for sale.

Encinitas Oktoberfest | September 24

The 27th Annual Encinitas Chamber of Commerce Oktoberfest is a free community event that celebrates German heritage and features local artisans, a German beer garden, Bavarian music, international food, carnival rides, and a craft beer garden. Located on Mountain Vista Drive in Encinitas, it covers 1/3 mile, hosts 175 vendors, and draws attendees from all over San Diego County, making it a top Oktoberfest in north San Diego County.

North Park | September 28

Black Plague BrewingBottlecraftThe Original 40 Brewing Company, and Second Chance Beer Company are teaming up for the 2nd-Annual North Park Oktoberfest Beer Crawl on Thursday, September 28.

Visit each of the four taprooms, which are all within 0.3 mile of each other, during the window of 5PM–9PM and try each brewery’s beer or food special to earn a punch on a special punch card. Those who complete the card will be entered into the raffle for the prize package. Prost!

Quartyard’s Annual East Village Oktoberfest | September 30

Grab your lederhosen and dirndl and get fitted for the 7th annual East Village Oktoberfest celebration! This year, Quartyard has partnered with the East Village Association to host the largest celebration to date, transforming East Village into a modern faced Oktoberfest activation with one-of-a-kind Latin flair for the evolving East Village community.

The German-themed event (infused with Mexican verve) will feature endless craft beer, traditional Oktoberfest faire, live Polka music and tribute bands, a classic car show and tons of games encouraging guest interaction and maximum fun.

Craftoberfest at Liberty Public Market | September 22 – October 1

Craftoberfest is making a triumphant return, offering an incredible 10-day experience at Liberty Public Market. This event promises a haven for craft beer enthusiasts, featuring a diverse range of brews from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and classic German Lager. Complementing the beer offerings are mouthwatering dishes specially prepared by vendors.

The festivities include the Beerlympics, beer-themed games for fun and laughter, as well as a massive vinyl record sale on October 1. Engage your knowledge with trivia and bingo nights, compete for prizes, and enjoy live music on Sundays. La Mesa Oktoberfest | September 29 – October 1

Marking its 50th anniversary, La Mesa Oktoberfest continues its tradition as the San Diego area’s largest Bavarian celebration! Immerse yourself in the Munich mood with brat-eating contests, musical chairs, yodeling contests, and more!

There will be three fully-stocked beer gardens that offer continuous entertainment by local and regional bands, including German Polka, indie rock, brass musicians, and more.

You can gain entry to all three distinctive gardens with a Biergarten Pass for just $5 (children enter for free).

Ocean Beach Oktoberfest | October 6-7

Ocean Beach Oktoberfest returns with their annual event in Ocean Beach where Newport meets the beach. In its 21st year, San Diego’s Wildest Oktoberfest is proudly sponsored by Jägermeister after being recognized by the liquor giant as one of the best in the country.

The all-day and night, two-day event will feature live music from both local and nationally touring artists including Afroman, Ballyhoo!, Paging the 90s, Band of Gringos and more.

Oktoberfest at One Paseo | October 7

One Paseo Oktoberfest

One Paseo is bringing Munich, Germany to San Diego with its annual Oktoberfest celebration. This 21+ event will be held on One Paseo’s lawn, located behind Harland Brewing.

The event will feature craft beers and other libations, German-inspired bites from The Butchery, traditional lawn games, the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Oktoberfest, live Hofbrauhaus music and much more.
